1996 Jeep Cherokee I6 Fuel Filter Replacement?
how do i replace a fuel filter on a 1996 jeep cherokee inline 6. I know it has a quick disconnect, but how do i depressurize the fuel lines?
why would i have to pull fuses? the jeep is off therefor the fuel pump should be off right?
it’s not hard at all.
1) disconnect the battery. this will keep anyone from turning power on while you replace the fuel filter.
2) de-pressurize the fuel rail by using the relief valve on the fuel rail in the engine bay
3) remove the fuel filter and install the new fuel filter.
should take you no more than an hour
good luck and be safe. wear goggles to keep fuel from getting into your eyes.
